If you’re looking for a sign to try Amazon Music, this could be it.

Amazon is giving its longest-ever free trial for Amazon Music Unlimited during the upcoming Prime Day event on July 16-17, 2024. This early Prime Day deal marks Amazon Music’s 10-year anniversary and lines up with Amazon’s 10th Prime Day event.

With this, Prime members can enjoy five months of the streaming service for free, while non-Prime members can get three months free.

“Prime Day is a celebration of the value we bring to members all year long. It features millions of deals across more than 35 product categories as well as discounts on Amazon devices, quality entertainment, groceries, travel, and more during the event.” said Jamil Ghani, Vice President of Amazon Prime.

To take advantage of this offer, Prime members who have never used Amazon Music Unlimited before can get their five-month trial through Amazon’s website or app before July 18.

Non-Prime members, on the other hand, can still snag a free trial but only for three months.

But there’s a trick to this.

Non-Prime members can start a free Amazon Prime trial at Amazon’s official page. This makes them eligible for the five-month Music Unlimited trial. So, you still won’t need to spend a dime to enjoy this and other Prime Day 2024 deals.

After the trial period, the subscription will automatically renew at $9.99 per month for Prime members or $10.99 for non-Prime members. Those not intending to continue should set a calendar reminder to cancel before charges begin.

If you want more alternatives, Amazon Music also offers other plans. There’s a family plan at $16.99 a month for up to six devices or a single device plan for $5.99 a month.

Students receive an even better deal, though. They can have a six-month trial of Amazon Prime Student, including access to Music Unlimited – all for free.

Is Amazon Music Unlimited Worth a Try?

Amazon Music Unlimited isn’t as big as Spotify or Apple Music. But, it offers a competitive package for music lovers and audiophiles alike.

For one, the service has over 100 million tracks and thousands of playlists, all without ads, just like Spotify.

But, what really sets it apart is the high-quality streaming options.

Amazon Music Unlimited offers HD and Ultra HD streaming at no extra cost. This puts it in the same league as premium services like Tidal and Qobuz, but without the higher price.

And, for those interested in immersive audio experiences, Amazon Music Unlimited supports advanced formats like Dolby Atmos and Sony 360RA.

Higher-quality streams use more data. In ‘Best Available’ mode, Amazon Music uses about 120MB per 20 minutes, which is more than some competitors.

Beyond music, the platform has podcasts and music videos, all in an easy-to-use interface. It also works well with Amazon devices and Alexa, which is great for those who already use Amazon products.

While it may not offer Spotify’s social features or Apple Music’s seamless iOS integration, Amazon Music Unlimited’s extensive library, audio quality, and additional content make it a strong contender in the streaming market.
